The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics conducted a CDE program on the occasion of “National Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics Day” & “International Dentist day” from 5th March to 7th March 2024. The event included screening programme at government model school on 5th March 2024,Treasure hunt on 6th March 2024 and Dental caries awareness talk on 7th March 2024 by Dr. Suman C & Dr. Sahana Umesh. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Vanamala N, Dr. Tarun G S, Dr. Rashmi Shetty and Dr. K Supreetha S Naik.
The Dental caries awareness talk was attended by 110 UG & PG students and staff in the 2nd floor auditorium from 3 to 4:30 PM, followed by refreshments.
In a remarkable display of civic responsibility, the Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics at AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Nitte DU in association with Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics and Association of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics - Karnataka, organized a Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, beach cleaning drive as a part of the National Consendo Day celebrations. The event, held on 5th March 2024, witnessed active participation from over 50 faculty members and students. The Chief Guests for the occasion were Mr. Sudheer Shetty, Mayor of Mangalore City Corporation; Mrs Shobha, Corporator; and Mr. Yathish Baikampady, a distinguished social activist. Their presence added significance to the event, highlighting the community-wide commitment to the Swacch Bharat Abhigyan. During the event, Mayor Sudheer Shetty addressed the gathering, emphasizing the crucial role of cleanliness in maintaining a healthy environment. An online quiz competition was held for the undergraduate students as an initiative for CONSENDO day celebrations 2024. The Endodontic Diagnosis and Dental Caries Quiz, saw an impressive turnout of 77 enthusiastic participants. The quiz, designed to challenge the students' understanding of critical dental concepts, consisted of 25 stimulating questions. The aim of the quiz was to assess the participants' knowledge in the fields of endodontic diagnosis and dental caries. These areas are fundamental in the practice of dentistry, and a strong grasp of the concepts is essential for providing effective patient care.Throughout the quiz, participants displayed remarkable agility and dedication, swiftly responding to the challenging questions with accuracy and confidence. Their enthusiasm and eagerness to test their knowledge were commendable, reflecting their commitment to continuous learning and improvement. After a rigorous evaluation of the responses based on correctness and speed, the top 10 performers were identified and honored with prizes. These individuals demonstrated exceptional proficiency in navigating the complexities of endodontic diagnosis and dental caries, showcasing their dedication to excellence in their field of study. The success of the Endodontic Diagnosis and Dental Caries Quiz not only highlights the students' enthusiasm for learning but also underscores the importance of continuous education in dentistry. Association of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics of Karnataka in association with Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore Organized the Basic Recap 2022 (A pre-exam preparatory workshop for 1st year Postgraduates) on 9th and 10th September 2022 at Medical Education Hall, Light house hill campus, Mangaluru.
Dr Ashita Uppoor, Dean, MCODS, Mangalore was the Chief Guest of this event, Dr Mithra N Hegde, Secretary ACE-Karnataka, Dr Karthik Shetty, Organizing Chairperson, Dr Shreya Hegde, Organizing Secretary, and Dr Roma M, Joint Secretary inaugurated the workshop.
The workshop was attended by 96 postgraduates from across Karnataka.
The department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics of Sri Rajiv Gandhi College of Dental Sciences and Hospital in association with ACE-Karnataka organized a CDE programme on Nanorobotics in dentistry on 4th August 2022.
Dr. Ramya Raghu, President ACE-Karnataka, Dr. Kusum Valli, Head of the Department inaugurated the programme. The speaker Dr. Shanmukh Srinivas gave insights into demonstrating the proof of concept of mobility of Nanorobotics in dental tubules.
